  Dave says the reason for the superb ride is because the saddle is suspended and thus absorbs all road shock, but when climbing, the frame, especially at the bottom bracket, is super stiff with almost zero flex,as a result all your power is converted to forward motion. This is also a faster frame, due to the very aerodynamic forks and main tubes.
